During the chaos of multiple construction projects, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital realized that effective wayfinding means Carefinding. Patients losing their way within a hospital has an adverse affect on patient satisfaction scores, patient flow, and ultimately the hospital’s profit margins. Proper wayfinding in your hospital is necessary to improve your patients’ experience and satisfaction. If your hospital is unable to efficiently guide patients or visitors, it can translate to late appointments, delayed patient discharge, and nurses and doctors taking critical time from their responsibilities to provide directions.

CS&G Introduces New "Green" Signs Systems

Randy Cooper, President of Cooper Signage & Graphics (CS&G), announced the addition of two new sign systems to the CS&G family of products, the EarthWise Series and the Accent Series.

The EarthWise Series is an earth friendly, yet easy to update signage system that provides designers and facility managers with a stylish solution for their signage needs that is ADA compatible. The construction of the EarthWise Series signs utilizes a significant use of post consumer recycled materials and up to 85% recyclable components while avoiding the use of paint or volatile organic compounds in an effort to reduce the impact on the environment. The installation of these signs do not require any adhesives and can be easily updates with recycled cardstock inserts to allow for rapid in-house updates by facility staff.

“We believe that the extensive use of recycled and recyclable components combined with the highly customizable features of this system will provide our clients who are trying to move toward a “greener” solution for their signage the ability to do so’” said Randy Cooper. “The ability to easily update the EarthWise Series signage will also reduce the environmental and economic impact for years to come for facilities that utilize this system. This system will also provide designers with another option while seeking LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ) certification for their projects. ”

In addition to the EarthWise Series, CS&G’s new Accent Series provides clients with an effective modular signage system that is ADA compliant and also utilizes the same eco-friendly recycled cardstock inserts.
The Accent Series features a modular plaque system for use in directional, room/area identification, donor recognition and policy signage that emphasizes the use of color coding to identify floors or quadrants of a facility while providing a common background/field throughout the facility.

“While this system carries a modest price point, it combines exceptional contemporary aesthetics with customization capabilities that will be able to meet the needs of most healthcare facilities,” said Cooper. “The Accent Series provides facilities with a wide range of applications and can easily accommodate multilingual needs.”
